Economy of information--the age of AI agents
Information generation, transfer, and consumption have become a major part of the economy in the developed world, where material needs are largely met.
Now, AI agents are poised to monopolize information-related work, claiming a lion’s share of the economy.
This raises two questions:
First, although virtual, AI agents depend on physical devices for storage and computation—their lifelines. How much pricing power should these physical entities have?
Second, AI agents’ “brain power” is distilled from humanity’s collective knowledge. What stake, then, should all of humanity have in AI systems?
